ABUSE OF THE SYSTEM
Abuse of the SSW Website, or the e-mail addresses associated with this site (hereafter, the "system") will not be tolerated and will be prosecuted under the fullest extent of the law of the Federal Government of the United States of America and/or the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Anything that is considered an attack on the system is prohibited. Spamming, email bombing, and hate mail are all examples of abuse of the system. Reverse engineering of the systems e-mail addresses to spam, email bomb, or send hate mail to others is expressly prohibited. The Webmasters of SSW will make a final determination of what is and is not an attack of the system.
SSW may have on its sites on-line forms for people to fill out. In the event the forms are improperly used, SSW has implemented several measures to combat these types of actions, which are considered attacks on the system (see else where in this document.) 1. The violators e-mail address will be permanently blocked. 2. The relevant header information will be logged for our records. 3. The offender's e-mail domain will be informed of the attack and we will pursue the matter to the fullest extent the domain will allow us.
FEEDBACK OR OTHER SUBMISSIONS TO THE SITES
Unless expressly provided otherwise by SSW, all comments, feedback, information or materials submitted to SSW through or in association with the Sites shall be considered non-confidential and SSW's property. By submitting such comments, feedback, information or materials to SSW, you agree to a no-charge assignment to SSW of all worldwide rights, title and interest in copyrights and other intellectual property rights to the comments, feedback, information or materials. SSW shall be free to use, copy, edit or distribute such comments, feedback, information or materials on an unrestricted basis without accounting to you. However, as SSW encourages the promulgation of information, we will always credit your authorship, allow you to place contact information on your work, and will attempt to work with the author of materials so that SSW may distribute material in the best way for the public.
RULES OF PUBLICATION
The following are rules set by the Webmaster(s) in regards to publication of information.
"Social Studies World" is a non-profit, non-partisan Web Site dedicated to the betterment of education and understanding of the Social Studies. Any individual may submit materials for review. If these materials follow the following guidelines, they may be published on the Web Site. SSW has the right to reject any material submitted which it finds in violation of the following:
1.The content of the information must have no opinion towards a person or a group of people, nor may it discriminate against anyone based on sex, race, creed, national origin, religion, political beliefs, physical or mental handicaps, and sexual orientation as defined by the Federal Government of the United States of America's civil service hiring policies.
2.The page must be related to one of the fields identified as a Social Science, including, but not limited to, History, Political Science, Economics, Geography, Sociology, Psychology, Anthropology, Archeology, and Law. Any other materials submitted will definitely be considered, but may not be eligible for publication on the site.
3.The process of publication must be followed unless permission is given by the SSW Online staff or an administrator.
4.Any pictures or personal information about a person or group of people must be approved by this person or these people by having media release forms signed. If you are in need of one, please contact the webmasters. These release forms are only for use with SSW. Any information that is not approved with a signature cannot be published by law.
5.Information must be submitted in the following formats: Text, RTF, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Write, Microsoft Works, HTM, HTML. Documents are not limited to HTML.
6.Pages and their content may be changed from their original format at any time without prior warning to the original author as per discretion of the webmasters of the SSW web site. As stated elsewhere in this document, all files transferred to the SSW web site immediately and forever become the property of SSW, to do so with it as it pleases. However, as also stated, the webmasters will make every attempt to come to solutions with the original authors.

SSW controls the Sites from the offices and residents of the owner and webmaster, which are located in and around the Town of Bloomsburg, Columbia County and South Park Township, Allegheny County, both in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States of America. You agree that any legal action, proceeding or other matters relating to your access to, or use of, the Information or the Sites shall be governed by U.S. federal law or the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. SSW uses a feature of your browser to set a "cookie" on your computer. A cookie is a small data file that certain Web sites write to your hard drive when you visit them. A cookie file can contain information such as a user ID that the site uses to track the pages you've visited. But no personal information can be garnered from SSW cookies by anyone. A cookie can't read data off your hard disk or read cookie files created by other sites. SSW uses cookies in only one instant--when you logon to the homepage. The reason for this is the quote feature on the homepage. Every time you logon to the homepage you will see a different quote. The only information the cookie contains is how many times you have been to the homepage. This is done so that the browser displays a new quote. We could not find out any other information, such as your name.
